Building Confidence While Losing Your Hair

Are you starting to lose your hair? If you are, it doesn’t matter how old or young you are, it is a difficult journey to embark on, through no choice of your own. If it were your choice, you’d never lose any hair in the first place! But, today is, as they say, the first day of the rest of your life. If that life does not include the hair you had in your younger years, it’s ok. It just means you’re now turning into a Badass.

If you are losing your hair, you have a few choices. Fight it and do everything you can to keep it, cover it up; or go with the flow, get used to it, love it, and be your badass self.

People are going to make comments, some supportive, and some that are downright rude. Ignore them all. You do you.

Others may think you have changed your personality along with your hairstyle, but it’s just because you are nervous about people noticing your hair loss. Although it may seem you are being shy, it’s really about you expecting awkward questions that you don’t want to answer.

“Is your hair thinning?” “Aren’t you a little young to be going bald?”

Ignore their boldness and take it with a grain of salt. Tell them to watch this video of Things Not to Say to Bald Men.  This is a traumatic time for most people, and who can blame you? But if you are prepared to answer these questions and face your future going forward, proud of yourself and accepting of your receding hairline as the badge of a grown man, then you, my friend, are ready to take on the world.

If you’re not quite so confident yet in your new hairstyle, then you can have an answer ready such as “Yes I am, and I’m fine with it. Is there a problem?” Or something you have prepared ahead of time so you will be ready when someone decides to blurt out something rude or hurtful.

You may not really be fine with it, but put on a brave face, and soon you will be. And because of your strength and confidence, maybe they will keep their comments to themselves the next time you meet.

Whether you cut it short or take the plunge and shave it off, it will be hard at first to get used to your new look, but the more you enhance your style, the sooner you will begin your journey as a badass.

Embrace your new look and your confidence will grow, and the more of a badass you will become.

Don’t worry about what anyone else thinks of you. Confidence comes from looking good and feeling good. Now is the time to take care of you. The more you work you put into yourself, the stronger you become, mentally, and physically.

Your new journey will be rocky, but it will also be amazing. It is the road you are on now, and there’s no turning back. Make the most of your journey and create some great memories along the way. It all begins with how you feel about yourself.

What is your style? Do you know? Or do you throw on whatever is clean? If you just jump into aa pair of  sweats and a t-shirt every day, remember, ZZ Top said it best: “Every girl crazy ’bout a sharp dressed man.” If you already have style, you’re on the right track, if not, pay more attention to your wardrobe. Make sure your clothes match, fit well, are clean and pressed, and make sure your hair is styled.

Your style says a lot about you. You can feel like a million bucks in a nice suit, whether you have hair to your shoulders, are completely bald, or somewhere in between. No matter how tall, short, wide, or narrow your stature, you will benefit from wearing clothes that make you feel fantastic. You don’t have to spend a million dollars to do it either. There are street brands and discount stores to help you look your best.

They still love you no matter if you have that Billy Ray Cyrus mullet or the Dwayne Johnson bald-is-sexxxy look going on!

When you know your worth and that everyone who matters cares about you no matter how much hair you have or don’t have on your head, then even your crazy Uncle Louis, who loves to make fun of everyone, won’t get under your skin. You will be able to laugh right along with him.
